WHAT WE DO!

Network Verde is proud to announce our inaugural project as a nonprofit partnership to provide computers for children and communities in rural Guatemala. Network Verde's mission is to collect donated computers, refurbish them, and make them available to serve the educational needs of indigenous Mayan communities. Over 500 computers have already been placed in Guatemala and are now helping to educate more than 5000 students in 30 schools!

This project targets more than 1000 rural schools in Guatemala. Each school has requested 50 computers. We need your help to collect enough Pentium 3 (or newer) generation PCs and/or G4 and G5 Macintosh desktops. There is also a great need for laptops for school support staff such as superintendents, teachers and community leaders who support the computer labs. In addition to the computers, Network Verde will work to provide internet connectivity to as many of these schools as possible, in order to do our part towards bridging the digital divide that threatens to exclude those in developing countries from the emerging knowledge-based global economy.
